Oh my... My page appears to have been infested with grey
Sorry about the wait. Looks different? Yes. Anyone suprised anymore? No.
I learnt a couple of things from doing this page... I'd like to share them with you. 1) if you're doing a page completely in pencil, dont try to tone in something you missed out digitally later... 2) If you're planning on shading one panel, YOU HAVE TO SHADE THEM ALL. It looks a little... ridiculous =< Ah well, live and learn...
omg he's got blood he's doing a summoning jutsu!! ... Well. No. It'll make sense on the next page.
He looks prettier on this one... Maybe getting his face rammed into a wall was good for him.
Normally when someone's told that their character looks great, it brings them great joy... but whenever I've been told here it makes me feel urk X___x ... I was trying out something different. Yeah, seems I missed my target a lil' with Bart's appearance. For anyone who brought this up, fear not- ... How he turned out in this page is not his intended appearance.
It may take a lil' fine tuning for me to get it how I want so... gimme time. I'll try get it right.
Actually, I think I can see where this is going. Not going to say anything in case I give it away though (or, in case I'm wrong, thus avoiding certain embarrassment!)
Yeah, he does look hotter on this page...but, I personally don't necessarily approve of that. A part of Bart's charm I always thought was how rough around the edges he looks, tired, unshaven,'been there done that', making him very much unlike most other web comic (or comics in general)hero.
Now if I could only just find a comic that leads with a herion whose both a minority, doesn't look like she starves herself and whose main plotline isn't finding true love. Then I think the comic world would finally balance out.
Oh, and that she doesn't look like she's a twelve year old with giant knockers. That would be nice too.
Sorry that I'm ranting. Just got done cleaning the house and I'm tired -_- Great job on the page anyway, can't wait to see the next part!
This comic's experimental... So if you don't like how something (or someone, in this case) is drawn then I wouldn't worry, because chances are it could very well look completely different on the next page. I'm just trying out different things.
As for the point about the heroin, I can't help there, but I'd suggest checking out my friend xkrazydog's comic Cold Coffee XD I think that fits what you specified.
Sien: ... I was waiting for that XD indeed, how does he wipe his face clean.
The answer I thought up: You know how sometimes your dad might have done that thing when you're a kid, where he spots that your face is mucky, so he goes and rubs his hand over your face with the plan that this will magically clean it? That's how! He has magical cleaning dad hands~
The honest answer: I decided what happened a month ago before I drew this and before thinking it through, and hadn't the heart to change it.
Originally there was a huge mess on his face where he rubbed. But it looked bad. So I cheatingly made it really faint (and it didnt show in the scan...) ... If people want I can include it XD
Great! I love it. Less facial hair makes Bart look a lot younger, before he looked like a 35 yrs old! No offence intended, it just seemed that way to me, although hunting vampires can be a tiring job, I suppose that would age anybody...-_- But then again I don't know Bart's age...
Ah, non taken. He is meant to look about 35, after all XD
The reasoning for there being less beard is because this page was done in pencil, and so much of it was lost in the scan. I'll be trying to prevent that in the future.
However, it's not only the lessening of the beard that makes him look younger... There are quite a lot of factors which aren't as obvious to pinpoint. Such as his pupills take up more of his eyes, and are sparlier, his nose is smaller, his hair is prettier, and he has a thinner chin. ...Why did I do this, if he's not meant to look this way, you may ask? I was kind of inspired by a few different styles before doing this page, and it altered my work.
It may take me a while to get him to look exactly as he should as I fiddle about with techniques, but I should get there soon.
Wow... I sure rambled on there. Thanks for commenting!
